Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party Holds 12th Plenary Session

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec. 29 (acn) Participants in the 12th Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), chaired by its First Secretary, Army General Raul Castro, assessed on Saturday the proposal of the Conceptualization of the Cuban Social and Economic Model of Socialist Development, and the report on the performance of the work objectives adopted at the First National Conference of the PCC.

Several speakers made reference to the positive influence of the organization on daily work, and the continuity that has been given to the guidelines outlined by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC in the final speech of that Conference.
Progress made in the work of the structures of the PCC at all levels was verified at the meeting, and the fact of how PCC organizations have given a special place in their meetings and full sessions to the implementation of the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy became evident.
However, participants acknowledged that there are still shortcomings in the work of the organization, which should be rectified in the shortest time possible.
Participants in the Plenary Session considered it appropriate to continue to deepen into the issues associated with the Conceptualization and reintroduce their analysis in January, 2016.
In addition, the members of the Central Committee also analyzed the performance of Cuban economy in 2015, as well as the reports of the Economy Plan and the State Budget for 2016, which will be submitted to the approval of the National Assembly of the People's Power on Tuesday.
