HAVANA, Cuba, Dec. 14 (acn) Reymil Luis Ferreira Justiniano, Minister of Defense of the Pluri-national State of Bolivia, began today in Havana the first activity of the program of his official visit to Cuba.
Ferreira Justiniano and his delegation were received by Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, First Deputy Minister and head of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
After a warm exchange of greetings, the visitor placed a wreath at the Mausoleum to Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo and his assistant, Captain Francisco Gómez Toro (Panchito), of the Mambi Liberation Army.
Lopez Miera offered explanations about Maceo Grajales (1845-1896), who made history as the Bronze Titan for his many battles and wounds in the wars for national liberation and fell in combat on December 7, 1896, in San Pedro, province of Havana, where his mortal remains rest at the Memorial of El Cacahual.
The presence of our delegation in Havana is aimed at strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation existing between the two countries in the military field, said Ferreira Justiniano to a question by ACN.
He added that they are very interested in knowing the great advances in military health that Cuba has made, one of the most effective in the world, and even in its conceptions on academic training and technical assistance.
Lopez Miera received in November, in the same historic place, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Pluri-national State of Bolivia, Army General Omar Jaime Salinas Ortuño.
