HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 3 (acn) The Cuban futsal team will face Peru today after winning its first two games against first division local clubs in its training tour through the South American country.
On Saturday, the squad coached by Clemente Reynoso debuted with 3-2 win over Overall club with goals by Jhonet Stalin Martinez, Reinier Fiallo and Edgar Castillo.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday they defeated 3-1 Primero de Mayo with two goals by Jhonet and another one by Fiallo.
This is the first warm-up match between the two national sides, while another one is agreed for the coming Saturday at the end of the tour of the Caribbean players.
Cuba is training to play the knockout stage of the Caribbean in January in Havana, involving eight teams divided in two groups, contest that will grant two direct tickets for the CONCACAF finals, based in Costa Rica, on May 2016.
That tournament will award three berths for the World Cup, which will be settled in the Colombian city of Cali, on September 2016.
Cuba has attended four World Futsal Cups: Spain (1996), Guatemala (2000), Chinese Taipei (2004 ) and Brazil (2008).
