HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 26 (acn) The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on its www.cubaminrex.cu Web site, issued on Thursday a communique on the 6th round of negotiations between Cuba and the European Union (EU).
According to the text, the sixth round of negotiations for the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and Cuba, which began in Havana in April 2014, will take place in Brussels on December 1 and 2. The Cuban delegation will be headed, like in previous occasions, by Abelardo Moreno, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The previous five rounds, conducted alternately in Havana and Brussels, have produced positive results, and progress has been made towards the conclusion of the Agreement, reads the communique.
On this occasion, the delegations will focus on working for the conclusion of the parts of the agreements related to Trade and Cooperation, and will continue talks on the part linked to political dialogue, which began in Havana during the fifth round held in August, 2015.
Also, they will hold preliminary exchanges on the principles that should govern the Agreement and its preamble, as well as its final legal stipulations.
Cuba and the European Union reaffirmed their intention to continue the negotiating process in a flexible manner and in good faith, in the light of the principles that for its relations were defined in 2008, of interests of the parties and of the intention to conclude the Agreement as soon as possible, ends the document.
