HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 11 (acn) A parliamentary delegation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic, members of the Agricultural and Livestock Commission, which is on a visit to Cuba, was received on Tuesday at the National Assembly of the People's Power (ANPP) by Yolanda Ferrer, president of the International Relations Commission of the Cuban Parliament.
Deputies Juan Compres, also president of the Dominican Republic–Cuba parliamentary friendship group; Jose Gabriel Jaquez; Ramon Arcangel Santana; and Afif Risek, also spoke with Bernardo Diaz, president of the Food and Agriculture Commission of the ANPP.
Also present at the meeting were deputy Martha Rosa Hernandez, vice-president of the Food and Agriculture Commission; deputy Antonio Hernandez, and the counselor of the embassy of the Dominican Republic to Cuba, Luis Maldonado.
Visitors and hosts spoke about relations between the two countries and the history uniting them, the characteristics of the National Assembly and Cuba's challenges, particularly those referred to the implementation of the new economic model and the reestablishment of relations with the United States.
The Dominican deputies expressed particular interest in the organization of productive forces in agriculture and livestock breeding in Cuba and possibilities of joint work in this sector.
