WHO´s Chang says Cuban health system is an example

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 20 (acn) World Health Organization (WHO) General Director Margaret Chan described the Cuban health system as an example to follow for its sustainability and capability to act in emergency situations.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, Chan highlighted the solidarity spirit of Cuba, especially in the training of health professionals from Third World countries, during the plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Conference underway in Geneve, Switzerland.
Chan thanked Cuba for its contribution to fight the Ebola outbreak in West Africa
Cuban lawmaker Yolanda Ferrer, head of the delegation of the Caribbean country to this conference, said it was a privilege for Cubans to be acknowledged by WHO.
She said that, in order to have a real sustainable health system, you need the political will of the State and a true spirit of solidarity
