HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 16 (acn) The International Meeting for Inter-religious Dialogue and World Peace began on Friday in Havana in order to contribute to unity and fraternal love between human beings, organizers highlighted.
The meeting, which will run until Sunday at the capital's Convention Center, will serve to acknowledge that the different paths of faith, religions, families, communities, peoples and nations play an irreplaceable role in the creation of a world of peace, the Cubasi Web site reported on October 16.
The aim of the conclave, in the opinion of leaders of different denominations established on the island, is to reflect, exchange ideas and experiences that result in a spiritually sustainable world.
Among topics to be discussed in the opening day are world peace and the fight against terrorism; current religious women, their goals and challenges; and inter-religious dialogue as an action of peace.
The meeting is organized by the Platform for Inter-religious Dialogue in Cuba, founded in 2011 as a comprehensive expression of heterogeneous dialogue and religious freedom in the Caribbean nation.
