In Cuba PM of East Timor on Official Visit

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 2 (acn) Rui Maria de Araujo, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, arrived on Friday in this capital on an official visit, which will end on October 8.

Welcoming the visiting head of state and his accompanying delegation at Havana's Jose Marti International Airport were Ana Teresita Gonzalez, Deputy Foreign Minister, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the island.
Upon his arrival in Havana, the distinguished visitor conveyed greetings from the President of the Democratic Republic of East Timor for the Cuban government and people, and described as excellent the bonds of friendship existing between the two nations.
In brief statement to the press, he highlighted the significant presence of Cuban voluntary workers in his homeland. "We come to Cuba to learn, in order to develop," he pointed out.
According to the visiting PM's agenda, he will hold talks with Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba.
Likewise, Rui Maria de Araujo will meet with Esteban Lazo, Politburo member and President of the National Assembly of the People's Power (Parliament)
In addition, he will visit the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, the two of them in Havana.
