In Cuba President of Vietnam for Official VisitHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 29 (acn) Truong Tan Sang, President of Vietnam, arrived in this capital for an official visit, as part of which he will hold talks with Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers.

The head of state arrived on Monday night at the Jose Marti International Airport (Terminal 1), and was received by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra, as well as by Duong Minh, Vietnam's ambassador to Cuba, and by other members of the Vietnamese diplomatic corps accredited to Havana.
In statements to the press, Truong Tan Sang asserted that one of the objectives of this visit is to strengthen even more the bonds of solidarity and fraternity existing between the two nations, forged by the friendship between leaders Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh.
The Vietnamese president took advantage of the occasion to convey "warm and sincere greetings to the Cuban people," and urged to continue achieving more successes in the construction of Socialism.
He told reporters that cooperation agreements between the two countries are planned to be signed during his stay on the island.
As part of his visit, which will end on September 30, the Vietnamese head of state will receive the Jose Marti Order, the highest award given by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.
Also, he will meet with Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of the People's Power, and will pay tribute to Jose Marti and a Ho Chi Minh.
