HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (acn) Jose Narro, rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), received on Friday the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Havana (UH), in the Aula Magna (Main Lecture Hall) of which he was honored.
In his words of appreciation, Narro, who has been granted this award from another 10 academies throughout the world, thanked the UH for the acknowledgment received, on behalf of the higher education center he represents.
Gustavo Cobreiro, rector of the UH, stressed in his speech that the UNAM, from where several Nobel Prizes have graduated, was declared a World Cultural Site and received the Prince of Asturias Award in Communication and Humanities during the time Narro has been heading that university.
We will always remember the speeches by this doctor in international events where he advocated the incorporation of Cuba to Latin American integration processes –he stressed. For this and for his work in community medicine in our region is that today he receives one of 15 Honoris Causa titles our Alma Mater has given to Mexican intellectuals.
