President of Vietnam Announces Official Visit to Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 25 (acn) The head of state of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang, announced in Hanoi that he will pay an official visit to Cuba from September 28 th through the 30th, at the invitation of his counterpart Raul Castro.
Information by the agency VNA reads that it’s a visit prior to the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, to be marked on December 2nd, the Cubasi Web site reported on Friday.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, solidarity, support and comprehensive cooperation between Hanoi and Havana consolidate and develop systematically.
Cuba was a pioneer in the world popular movements that supported the struggle for the independence and liberation of the Vietnamese people, as well as current national construction and defense.
Bilateral trade increased from 175 million dollars in 2012 to 200 million dollars in 2014. Vietnam sells rice and consumer products to the Cuban market and purchases from the island biotechnological products and medicines.
Vietnamese enterprises speed up their investment projects in tourism infrastructure, construction materials and detergent production in Cuba.
Vietnam also gives support to the Caribbean nation for the development of projects on the production of rice, corn, and soybean and in aquaculture.
The two countries strengthen cooperation in telecommunications, security-defense, education-training, culture, health-pharmacy and science-technology, concludes the information given by the VNA.
