HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 28 (acn) Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro sent a message to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro on the occasion of the celebrations for the 62nd anniversary of the attacks of the Moncada and Cespedes garrisons.
According to Granma newspaper, Maduro calls Fidel Father and Teacher of all revolutionaries and revolutions in Our America and the world and expresses his respect, love and admiration on the day that marks the beginning of the struggle that led to the Cuban Revolution triumph.
He said that on that July 26, 1953, heroism and sacrifice shone the highest because the group of youngsters led by Fidel was trying to vindicate the legacy of the Cuban national Hero Jose Marti, whom Fidel, in his defense at the following trial called the intellectual author of the action.
Even though 62 years have gone by, Maduro adds, the spirit of the Moncada arouses the fights in Latin America for the definitive independence.
