Santiago de Cuba Pays Homage to Fidel and Raul Castro

Santiago.- The Municipal Assembly of People´s Power (local government) in Santiago de Cuba adopted a resolution in solemn ceremony paying homage to Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro and to President Raul Castro, during commemorations here for the 500 anniversary of the founding of this eastern city.

Municipal Assembly vice-president Marcos Campins read the resolution and said that it is a gesture to reciprocate with the phrase Thanks Fidel, so much affection and exploit.
The resolution, which encompasses the accord by the assembly, stipulates the homage to President Raul Castro, for his revolutionary fight and deep link and affection to the city of Santiago.
The solemn ceremony, held by all 274 lawmakers, took place in the presence of first vice-president Miguel Diaz-Canel and vice-president Jose Ramon Machado Ventura.
