Machado Ventura Present at Cuban Youth Congress

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 19 (acn) The second secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (CC of the PCC) and Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, attended on Saturday debates held by delegates at the 10th Congress of the Young Communists League (UJC) on the role of youth in Cuba's socioeconomic scenario.

Met at the capital's Convention Center, the representatives of the political youth vanguard discussed how to achieve a larger participation of new generations in the current process of updating of the island's economy.
The ongoing changes and challenges facing the country are priority issues on the agenda of the fourth working committee: Youth plus the economy, increasing rpm.
Also present at the meeting were Salvador Valdes, member of the Politburo and Vice- president of the Council of State; Yuniasky Crespo, member of the CC of the PCC and member of the Council of State and first secretary of the UJC; and Gladys Bejarano, member of the CC of the PCC, Vice-president of the Council of State, and Comptroller General of the Republic.
