The Cuban Five Thank South Africans for SolidarityHAVANA, Cuba, Jul 3 (acn) The five Cuban antiterrorist fighters participated on Thursday in an international solidarity symposium of the tripartite alliance in South Africa.

The initiative, which was born last year at the colloquium for the freedom of The Five and against terrorism, was intended to demand the release of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and Antonio Guerrero, the three men who were still in U.S. prisons.

It was a victory of global solidarity and of the resistance of the Cuban people, they reiterated the audience over and over, including Anglican priest Michael Lapsley, Prensa Latina reported from Johannesburg.

Hernandez, Labañino and Guerrero along with Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, known internationally as The Five- arrived in South Africa on June 21 at the invitation of the African National Congress (ANC) to celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the proclamation of the Charter of Freedom.
