Diaz-Canel Receives Former Bolivian President Carlos MesaHAVANA, Cuba, July 1 (acn) Politburo member Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, met on Wednesday afternoon with Carlos Mesa, former Bolivian President and official representative and international spokesperson of the Maritime Demand of the Pluri-national State of Bolivia, who is on a working tour of several countries in the region.

Mesa explained Diaz-Canel the essential elements of the demand presented by Bolivia at the International Court of Justice of The Hague to achieve an honorable negotiation with the Republic of Chile on a sovereign access to the sea for his country, the Granma newspaper reported.
The First VP ratified the official Bolivian representative the historic position of Cuba in support of the fair demand of Bolivia and for the search for a peaceful and negotiated solution between the two countries for the good of peace, unity and Latin American and Caribbean integration.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor was Palmiro Soria, Ambassador of the Pluri-national State of Bolivia to Havana. Cuba was also represented at the meeting by the Director for South America of the Foreign Ministry, Pedro Pablo Prada.
