HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 29 (acn) The Havana City Historian, Eusebio Leal Spengler, expressed on Thursday in Havana the importance to transmit history to the new generations, in addition to studying other issues in order for students to achieve true integral knowledge.
During the inauguration of the 1st International Colloquium of Historians, Leal stressed that not all the professionals of the science has the vocation to be educators, however, he pointed out that patience, pleasant, reflective and sensible are important qualities.
A historian should never judge because it is easy to do so of a past that one did not live and of personalities that have passed away because they are unable to defend themselves, he told specialists from Mexico, Brazil, United States, Colombia, Spain, Italy, Venezuela, Peru and others.
The Havana City Historian highlighted the need of preserving the heritage of each nation, the elements that identify a country that make them unique in the world as the people sums the individuals.
The also President of Honor of the Cuban Historian Union expressed that one must always penetrate the mystery of the things like Don Fernando Ortiz, qualified as one of the most important scholars in the country and who always looked for the truth.
The participants gathered at the Master Conference Hall of the San Geronimo College in Havana to conclude on Friday debated on the current challenges of subject of history in Cuba, the theoretical and methodological problems in its teachings and the vision on the current process in Latin America.
Leal also highlighted the role of women in the independence and construction of the nations and the relationship of the concept of motherland in which Jose Marti described as Humanity.
