Sam Nujoma Receives Cuban Youth DelegationHAVANA, Cuba, May 19 (acn) The founding father of Namibia, Sam Nujoma, received Nexy Veliz, president of the Jose Marti Pioneer Children Organization (OPJM), and Jesus Mora, Cuban representative to the World Federation of Democratic Youth (FMJD), the Juventud Rebelde newspaper reported.

The meeting took place within the framework of a mass activity held in the city of Otjiwarongo, Namibia, and on this occasion Veliz conveyed to the historic leader of SWAPO a message of solidarity and respect towards the African nation for its selfless pro-independence struggle.

According to a note released by the Cuban embassy to Namibia, the president of the OPJM also expressed her gratitude for the dissimilar demonstrations of solidarity Namibia has had toward the island.
Nujoma, for his part, pointed out that he felt great pride for the presence of a Cuban delegation in his homeland and described as essential the exchange of experiences between the new generations of the two countries to preserve decades of friendship and understanding.

Accompanied by Ambassador Giraldo Mazola, the Cuban delegation met with Jerry Ekandjo, Minster of Youth, Sports and National Services of Namibia, in a cordial atmosphere.

It also met with Elijah Ngurare, secretary of the Youth League of the Swapo Party and with Mandela Kapere, president of the Youth Council of Namibia.
