HAVANA, Cuba, May 18 (acn) Cuban President Raul Castro congratulated the delegates to the 11th Congress of the National Small Farmers Association, which wound up on Sunday May 17, National Farmer Day in Cuba.
Vice-president and second Communist Party secretary Jose Ramon Machado Ventura conveyed the over 700 delegates at the congress the congratulations sent in by Raul Castro and stressed the outstanding role played by Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro in the defense of Cuban farmers.
The congress was also attended by first Cuban vice-president Miguel Diaz Canel.
