HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 29 (acn) The First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, met on Wednesday morning with the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Barcena.
During the cordial meeting, the top U.N. official expressed her satisfaction for being able to accompany Cuba in the process of updating of its economic model and ratified ECLAC's willingness to continue giving all help possible.
Topics of mutual interest on regional cooperation, in which Cuba maintains an outstanding role, were also tackled.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Hugo Eduardo Beteta, Director of ECLAC's Subregional Office in Mexico, and Raul Garcia-Buchaca, Director of ECLAC's Division for the Pallning of Programs and Operations.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Ileana Nuñez, acting Minister, and William Diaz, acting Director of International Economic Organizations, the two of them from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment.
