Speaker of the National Assembly of São Tomé and Príncipe pays tribute to Martí

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 21 (ACN) Celmira de Almeida do Sacramento dos Santos Lourenço, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, laid a wreath on the Cuban National Hero José Martí memorial at Havana’s Revolution Square.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied at the solemn ceremony by Ana María Mari Machado, Vice-President of the National Assembly of People's Power and of the Council of State, among other leaders and officials of the National Assembly, whereas the São Toméan delegation featured the Deputies Sólito da Cunha Lisboa Neto, President of the Parliamentary Cuba Friendship Group with Cuba, and Osvaldo Antonio Cravid Viegas.

Ms. Celmira de Almeida, who began her official visit to Cuba on September 18 at the head of a parliamentary delegation, will meet with her counterpart, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and other Cuban authorities and visit sites of historical, academic, and cultural interest.
