President of Viet Nam Receives Cuban Union Secretary General

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 1 (acn) Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and secretary general of the Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC), was received on Wednesday in Vietnam by the President of that Asian nation, Truong Tan Sang, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

During the meeting, the Vietnamese head of state highlighted the solid bonds of friendship and cooperation existing between the two nations and thanked the island for its support in the struggle for his country's independence.
Tan Sang said that Vietnam is willing to share with Cuba its experiences of 30 years of renewal, including those in the union field in non-state areas.
Previously, Guilarte met with Dang Noc, president of the General Confederation of Workers of Vietnam, whom he presented with a commemorative pin for the 75th anniversary f the founding of the CTC, given to that Vietnamese organization.
The Cuban official also had a working session with the national maritime union, and is planning to do the same with the port union organization in the city of Haiphong.
