LAS TUNAS, Cuba, August 4 (ACN) The use of containers for housing construction offers a new solution to the housing problem in the eastern province of Las Tunas.
Therefore, institutions involved in this sector are preparing a project to leverage secondary resources from the installation of photovoltaic parks in the area.
During the initial stage, still in the design process, 28 one- and two-bedroom residences will be built, along with a kitchen, bathroom, and a 32-square-meter area, benefiting vulnerable families in the main municipalities of Puerto Padre, Manati, Jesus Menendez, and Majibacoa, as they have the necessary conditions to undertake this modality.
The project requires thermal sheets to dissipate heat and cover the walls. A zinc roof will be added to the roof, as well as the adjustment of doors, windows, electrical and plumbing systems, stated Hector Rodriguez Espinoza, provincial director of Housing.
The future arrival of a greater number of containers, given the country's energy transition to non-renewable sources, will allow the remaining territories to benefit from this housing alternative, which also offers savings in materials and is quick to build.
With 12 structures, the capital city of this province will be the well-stocked to begin with. Although they are still involved in several legal requirements, they have already determined their location about six kilometers from the city, an area undergoing transformation and increasingly becoming urbanized.
