Cuban parliamentary commissions to debate today on children, adolescents, and youth

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 15 (ACN) The analysis and approval of the draft opinion on the Code of Children, Adolescents, and Youth will be among the priorities of the permanent working groups of the National Assembly of People's Power today, as a previous to the 5th Ordinary Session of the Cuban Parliament, in its 10th Legislature.

To this end, the Commisions on Youth Care, Children and Women's Equality, Constitutional and Legal Affairs, and Education, Culture, Science, Technology, and the Environment will be merged.

As part of the meeting, the Ministry of Domestic Trade's Accountability Measures Plan, the results of the Ministry of the Food Industry in the first half of 2025, and the mechanism for managing, controlling, and allocating foreign currency and the foreign exchange market will also be monitored.

Last Monday's agenda allowed for discussion of the progress of the Government Program for the Recovery of the National Electric Power System and the commitment to the energy transition under current conditions, as well as the Ministry of Labor and Social Security's action plan from 2026 to 2030.

The 11 permanent commisions of the Cuban Parliament will conclude their sessions Tuesday after analyzing approximately 86 topics of great impact on the lives of the population and the country's development.

The 5th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its 10th Legislature, will begin next Wednesday, July 16, at the Havana Convention Center.
