MATANZAS, Cuba, Jun 30 (ACN) The opening of the Hoyo Colorado II Photovoltaic Park in the Marti municipality is part of the Cuban government's initiatives to improve the country's energy mix.
With an installed capacity of 21.87 megawatts and Chinese technology adapted to the Cuban climate, the Hoyo Colorado II photovoltaic solar park was opened last Saturday, synchronized with the National Electric System since June 7 as part of the country's clean energy strategy.
Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdes Menendez, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, and Marieta Poey Zamora, Governor of Matanzas, attended the opening ceremony.
The event places the western territory as one of the Cuban provinces with the greatest growth in photovoltaic generation this year.
