Cuba appreciates donation from Cubans living abroad

 HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (ACN) Authorities from the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex by its Spanish acronym) delivered today a donation to several medical institutions in the country on behalf of the Federation of Associations of Cubans Resident Abroad (FACRE by its Spanish acronym).
At the Institute of Oncology and Radiology, one of the beneficiaries of the solidarity shipment, a representation of the medical team expressed their gratitude to the compatriots living abroad who maintain the link with their homeland and contribute to the progress of the nation in the current complex circumstances.

They said that the arrival of the supplies opens up possibilities for providing better treatment to many oncology patients who will benefit from a more adequate specialized approach, since they will have the necessary resources.

Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga, director general of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Living Abroad of the Foreign Ministry, pointed out that this humanitarian and solidarity act is neither casual nor isolated, but a sign of the affection of those Cubans living in other lands for the Homeland where they were born and where they were trained as professionals.

Gonzalez Fraga took the opportunity to recognize each and every one of the Cuban nationals who, throughout the world, have made contributions of various kinds to the Caribbean island in the midst of the complex situation resulting from more than six decades of the unjust and criminal blockade imposed and intensified by the U.S. administration.

On behalf of our authorities, the Minsap, the Minrex and all our people, receive our respect and eternal gratitude, all together for Cuba, she concluded.

With a value of close to half a million euros, the container delivered to the sector includes machinery, equipment and specialized means and disposable materials donated by the Basque Government's Department of Health from hospitals where Cuban doctors are currently working.
