FitCuba, voices of a timely and necessary trade fair

When this journalistic article circulates, delegates of the recently concluded 43rd International Tourism Fair of Cuba (FitCuba 2025) will be on familiarization tours of the Viñales Valley, the Varadero beach resort and the village of Trinidad, in the province of Sancti Spiritus.

On this occasion, those known as postur will focus on those poles, in that order, for their natural and scenic values; the Cuban beach resort par excellence and the colonial city of the center-south baptized as Museum City, in recognition of a destination where the past and the present have been preserved in perfect harmony.

At the same time that those experts, tour operators and specialized press delve into the particularities of each of those tourist regions, the countdown has already begun for the preparations for the next event of this stock exchange, with a similar date in 2026; dedicated to the modality of sun and beach, and of course with Varadero, not only the best Cuban beach, but also among the most famous in the world, according to surveys of prestigious companies versed in such inquiries.

Once again, Canada will be the guest of honor, very valid for a faithful market and with always sustained flows, although with logical variations over time given the complexities of the convulsive planet in which we live. The next calendar year will mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.

The event that was now closed emphasized several aspects, with particular interest in China, and as a communion of the parties involved, it seeks to increase the flow of Asian customers to the island and other neighbors of the competition, using the multidestination as a platform. In this way, travelers of that nationality will travel, yes, a great geographic distance, but with the incentive of visiting more than one country for the same package.

According to statements made by local authorities, the aspirations of the largest Antillean island seek to boost those emissions from the Far East, but without abandoning others, such as Canadians and Latin Americans, who have also been supplying considerable flows for years.

The multifaceted meeting of the tourism industry, the most important one held every year on the island, witnessed the announcement of a bold strategy for the reactivation of the sphere, which will focus on combining structural reforms, innovation, international cooperation and local empowerment.

Resistance and creativity are undertakings today in the face of the permanent hostile policy of Washington, which with its economic, commercial and financial blockade has the Antillean smokeless activity between eyebrows and eyebrows; and yet with such a panorama this destination struggles to recover lost seats, by the crisis internally and externally, both with impact on the daily performance, added to the campaign to discredit the Revolution and the reinsertion in the spurious list of nations allegedly sponsors of terrorism.

After very busy days of pre- and post-scheduling, the Cuban stock exchange proved to be timely, necessary and successful, according to Juan Carlos García Granda, who in his closing remarks said that FitCuba 2025 exceeded expectations not only from the organizational point of view, but also due to the participation of more than 1,500 foreign professionals. Fifty-eight nations were present.

“This forum was attended by more than 2,573 specialists from both the state and non-state sectors,” he told accredited journalists, insisting that “FitCuba 2025 integrated everyone as part of the Cuban tourism product, showing all that we offer”.
