International experts exchange with Cuban children on healthy nutrition

At the meeting, the children presented their experiences on the importance of healthy and nutritious food and health care, according to a press release from the mission in Cuba of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

It adds that with exhibitions, dramatizations and music they explored how a balanced diet not only contributes to their growth, but also to their general well-being, to contribute to strengthening the connection between local production and its impact on health.

The initiative was also attended by delegates from the Ministries of Education and Agriculture, and the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology.

RAES is a trilateral South-South cooperation initiative promoted by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, the National Education Development Fund and FAO as executive secretariat.

Cuba is part of it since 2024 and its membership will promote a regional agenda that includes a study on the components of school feeding programs, the construction of its agenda, the definition of priority issues and the debate on its national policies.
