Cuban farm for healthier and more hygienic tourism

More than 100 species of flora and fauna are found in the wooded area of the La Liliana farm, located in the municipality of Jimaguayu, in the central-eastern province of Camagüey, a condition that allows it to opt for the category of the Most Hygienic and Healthy Tourism.

Liliana Bacallao Gonzalez, producer of the farm, explained that they have an environmental training center and intend, through events and workshops, to show the main attractions of the place to domestic and foreign visitors.

At the same time, she highlighted the intention of showing in those spaces the work of the Celiac Association of Camagüey, since since 2011, in La Liliana they produce food of great nutritional benefit for more than 300 children from several provinces of the country.

The main purpose, Bacallao Gonzalez commented, is to ensure that people eat in a healthy way, which is why we conserve our own seeds.

In this sense, she added that among the main products are pumpkin, yucca, rice, broccoli, chia, flaxseed and sorghum, the latter used to make flour for breads, cookies and a wide variety of sweets.

Love for the land, the producer confessed, inspires her to maintain the farm, because nothing satisfies more, she assures, than eating the healthy and wholesome food that one is capable of producing oneself.
