Cuba's Ministry of Higher Education ready for new student admissions

 HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 11 (ACN) The Ministry of Higher Education (MES by its Spanish acronym) has more than 100,000 places for higher education, 113 university degrees and 65 short-cycle training programs available today to receive new students who will enter higher education for the 2025-2026 academic year.

April is always a decisive month for Cuban families, since it helps to decide the professional future of young people who wish to reach the higher education level, said Deisy Fraga Cedre, general director of Undergraduate Professional Training of that institution, to the press.

She announced that the entrance exams for Spanish, Mathematics and History will be held on May 6, 9 and 13, and a second special exam on May 23, 25 and 27, for those who could not take the exams.

Taking the entrance exam is the opportunity to opt for the degree program of your choice, however, the MES has decided to stimulate with the possibility of accessing a place directly, those applicants whose path has been exceptional and have obtained the best results in provincial and national competitions, the national pre-selection of the Olympics and international events, said the director.

Those who get this far, she explained, is because they received sufficient preparation to achieve a place on behalf of their training body and the country, since to get their hands on the desired career without taking the exams, first, they faced a contest or event that had a previous level of approval, and then put it into practice and the student proved to be at the height, earning the right to enter directly to higher education.

The MES has places for anyone who wishes to continue or reach the higher level, always taking into account both the right of the student and the demands of the country, precisely the entrance exams are conducted to order and respect the process, but by passing each person has a guaranteed place, which allows them to enter the university, and once inside change careers in case they have not been able to choose the one of their preference, Fraga Cedre concluded.
