HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 16 (ACN) The Ministry of the Interior reported that Cayman Islands authorities returned to Cuba a group of 11 people (nine men and two women) who had left the country illegally.
According to the report, two of these irregular migrants were arrested upon their arrival, one for allegedly having committed a crime before leaving the country and the other for being on probation.
This is the 12th operation of this kind undertaken by several countries in the region, from where 307 Cubans have been sent back so far this year.
The Cuban government remains strictly committed to a regular, safe and orderly migration while reiterating the danger and life-threatening conditions posed by illegal departures by sea.
