HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 7 (ACN) The Lidio Ramon Perez thermoelectric power plant (CTE by its Spanish acronym) in Felton, in Mayari, in the eastern province of Holguin, synchronized today to the national electricity system (SEN), reported the Electrical Energy Agency (UNE by its Spanish acronym).
The publication, on Facebook, specifies that the CTE is online since 10:54 a.m. this morning.
This industry started last January 30 a scheduled maintenance in block one, aimed at normalizing operational parameters.
Eric Milanes Quinzan, general director, confirmed then to the Cuban News Agency that among the main actions to be carried out would be the cleaning of the boiler air heaters, the condenser and the revision of two bearings in the turbine.
The work, he assured, was planned to increase the power of the block in order to reach an availability of 220 megawatts (MW), after more than 80 days on line with the SEN.
The CTE, known as Felton, was opened on January 5, 2001, and has two thermal generation units, although one of them suffered a fire in the boiler after a partial capitalizable repair that was intended to incorporate 240 MW to the SEN in the summer of 2022.
