Havana, Feb 6 (ACN) Erikan Moses is a young Namibian student taking a Civil Engineering course in Cuba. During the setting up of a student scientific research team on local heritage, in the eastern Cuban province of Holguin, he appreciated the opportunity to study on the island
Moses expressed interest in learning about the patrimonial values of Holguin city, its natural and historic sites and in joining heritage-related studies.
The newly created team will strengthen the relationship between the university and local companies, and also help the exchange with Namibian students, said Heritage expert Judith Mendez.
The specialist explained that scientific research will mainly focus on the development of local projects to identify and preserve the heritage of the eastern territory.
For engineer Carlos Diaz, these initiatives help the training of human resources and the integral preparation of young generations.
Holguin has over 200 historic sites and monuments, including its plazas which gave the province the name of “The City of Parks.”
