HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 6 (ACN) The presence in this city of the eminent Cuban-born Spanish neurologist José A. Obeso Inchausti was praised by the Club of Chamberos living in Cuba, whose members are originally from the municipality of Chambas in the province of Ciego de Avila, where Mr. Obeso was born, and established the organization on March 11, 1956.
“He is our friend since childhood, so we attended the ceremony at the University of Havana in which he was granted the status of Corresponding Academician of the Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC), given to professionals for their contributions”, said Club president Juan Roberto Cortes.
Obeso Inchausti is a Full Member of the Royal National Academy of Medicine and Director of the Integral Neurosciences Center and of the HM Puerta del Sur Hospital, Móstoles, in Spain.
As part of his visit to Cuba, the Spanish scholar attended the Symposium “Advances in Neurodegenerative Diseases: approaches to heredo-ataxias, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other diseases”, PhD and ACC secretary Nancy Pavón Fuentes remarked.
