Havana, Feb 5 (ACN) Palestinian-born American scholar Rabah Abdulhadi gave a lecture in Havana titled "From Vietnam to Palestine: The student intifada and internationalism" about the history of the Palestinian people and the value of their resistance.
Organized at the National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX), her presentation was attended by members of the Ministry of Culture, the TransCuba network, and the Embassy of Serbia, among other participants.
Ms. Abdulhadi referred to the resemblance that the Vietnam War bears to the one in Palestine and to the involvement of young people in both struggles and stressed that the U.S. government is the main accomplice to the impunity of the Zionist occupation forces and the crimes against humanity they commit in Gaza on a daily basis, albeit they have not been able to crush their spirit despite a conflict which has already claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people.
The academic also commended the role that Palestinian students and women are playing in this war, as well as the solidarity received from all over the world and particularly from Cuba.
CENESEX director Mariela Castro Espin called for an in-depth study of the Israel-Palestine conflict to understand the significance of and increase global support to the right of the people of Gaza to live in peace in their ancient region.
