HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 5 (acn) Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, will arrive in Cuba on Thursday afternoon on an official visit, which will run until March 7, as informed in this capital.
Raul Vecerra, director for Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, told ACN that, according to the program, the French official will give a press conference on March 6 in this capital to inform about his stay on the island.
Fekl's trip to Cuba precedes the visit in May of the President of France, Francois Hollande, which will be the first official visit of a head of state of that European nation to Cuba, according to the communique.
A total of 60 French companies maintain business operations with Cuban enterprises, through economic associations, representations, offices and societies.
An example of these commercial relations between the two countries is the joint venture Havana Club Internacional S.A., created in 1993 by the Cuba Ron Corporation and the French firm Pernod Ricard, which exports in the world close to four million cases annually.
