Raul Meets with the New Uruguayan President

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 2 (acn) Cuban President Raul Castro spoke on Monday in Uruguay with the new Uruguayan head of state, Tabare Vazquez, in the presidential residence of Suarez, where they tackled different topics of interest, among them cooperation in various sectors.
The two heads of state spoke for over two hours and then they joined a meeting between members of the Cuban delegation and Uruguayan ministers, the www.cubaminrex.cu Web site reported.
The previous day, the Cuban President met in private with former president Jose Mujica and his wife, Senator Lucia Topolansky, during which they exchanged opinions on topics of mutual interest and the bilateral relations of friendship.
The Cuban President is accompanied by Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice-president of the Council of Ministers; Roberto Morales, Public Health Minister; Antonio Carricarte, acting Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; Marcelino Medina, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mercedes Vicente, Cuba’s ambassador to Uruguay.
