HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 12 (ACN) 'Cuba commemorated the 20th anniversary of the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, whom Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, member of the Political Bureau and head of foreign relations, described as a tireless fighter for the inalienable rights of his people.
On X, Cuban diplomat reaffirmed the unwavering solidarity of the Caribbean island with Palestine in the face of the Israeli genocide.
Arafat was the first President of the Palestinian National Authority, father of the nationalist movement that promoted the creation of a Palestinian State.
He devoted most of his time to leading the Palestinian national struggle to demand the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.
In 1994 he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his participation in the negotiations in Oslo, Norway, a year earlier, for the liberation of Palestine and for providing a permanent solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
