In the face of contingencies, the spirit of victory is invincible

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 11 (ACN) Cuba is living nowadays challenging days to the disastrous impacts that, in just a few days, have caused two hurricanes and now strong earthquakes in the East, as if the serious electro-energy situation and the tightened and omnipresent U.S. blockade that intends to choke it were not enough.

Of course, the onslaught of nature -although foreseeable- can only be mitigated with measures to protect people, their homes and socio-economic infrastructures, in which the Caribbean island has ample experience and international prestige.

But not even in such complex and difficult times as those currently facing the country, those who live off the hate industry and want the Cuban Revolution to collapse do not stop flooding the media and (anti-) social networks with ill-intentioned content, fake news and calls for disobedience, disrespect for the laws and guidelines of the leaders of the Party, government and State.

When aid arrives from many friendly countries, international bodies and organizations, and from Cubans living abroad for the hundreds of thousands of victims of hurricanes Oscar and Rafael, others try to denigrate these humanitarian and disinterested gestures.

Fortunately, the response of the people, of the mass and political organizations, of the armed institutions and other national bodies, of the non-state economic actors, among many others, has not been long in coming.

The occupation and constant concern of the country's leadership, at the forefront of this complex battle that has forced the postponement of other commitments and projects, has been essential to organize a work strategy with its priorities and urgencies in each affected territory.

Used to being in solidarity both with ourselves and with dozens of nations in the world, we often do not realize that the greatness of this country begins with the unity of its people, who today suffer enormous shortages and difficulties in food, health, education, transportation, in the availability of fuel to also improve the national electro-energy system.

So much and poisonous is the anti-Cuban campaign that is afraid to show those heroic and human acts that are lived daily in cities and towns of the western and eastern regions affected by the scourge of hurricanes Oscar and Rafael; it is only interested in presenting to the world a country in total disgrace without explaining why it has been living under a war economy for a long time.

A deployment of brigades from the electric, telecommunications, construction, water resources and other sectors, from different provinces, in addition to combatants from the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, has allowed progress to be made in the recovery of Havana, Mayabeque and Artemisa, where the damage was severe.

But to reestablish vital services such as electricity and water, in many places it is first necessary to clear streets, avenues and highways of trees and downed poles, cleaning and sanitizing tasks that this weekend were supported by residents and labor and student collectives.

Now, in addition to the actions to mitigate the damages caused by strong earthquakes in the eastern territories of Santiago de Cuba and Granma, there is no time to lose in the face of this new challenge of nature.

The school year resumes today in the educational institutions that were not affected by major events, and also in the rest of the production and service activities in conditions to do so.

Cuba is living days in which there is no right to rest and much less to pessimism, to believe that fatalism is chasing us; Fidel and the Revolution itself have prepared us to face -and emerge victorious- from storms of all kinds and magnitude.
Therefore, in the face of hurricanes, earthquakes, blockades and hate campaigns, the spirit of victory is increasingly insurmountable.
