Cuba Present at Tourism Fair in Portugal

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 23 (acn) A Cuban mission will be present at the International Tourism Fair, BTL 2015 (February 24-March 1st), in Lisbon, Portugal, in order to establish a position of the Cuban tourist product in that European market, particularly Santiago de Cuba, Remedios in Villa Clara, and Jardines del Rey, and strengthen bonds with Portuguese partners of great importance for tourism operations towards the Caribbean destination.

With a total of participants in its last edition of 65,000 visitors of 25 countries, BTL is among the most prestigious of its kind in the world, particularly in the Iberian region.
The delegation, composed of representatives of the Tourism Ministry (MINTUR) and the Gaviota Tourism Group, will promote new hotel and extra-hotel suggestions for the current winter season.
Likewise, it will explain the business opportunities Cuba offers to foreign investment with the purpose of revitalizing tourism development, according to a communique issued by MINTUR.
The note also announces that, starting from July, a charter flight will operate from Portugal to Jardines del Rey, and will increase frequencies in operations to the Varadero beach resort.
