Over 200 Participants at European Solidarity-with-Cuba Encounter

Havana, Oct 1 (ACN) Over 200 delegates from 27 nations have confirmed attendance at the 19th Continental European Encounter in Solidarity with Cuba, to take place November 22-24 in Paris, France.

Cuban Friendship Institute official Rigoberto Zarza said that the gathering will expand the supportive action, this time more diverse and inclusive with friends, European lawmakers, representatives of different organizations and good-will people from the region.

Zarza said that the encounter will address actions stemming from the International Court session against the US blockade, held at the European Parliament in 2023; legal initiatives and the promotion of truth in the face of the media war which distorts Cuban reality.

Some 80 solidarity-with-Cuba organizations will be represented at the event and delegates from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, the U.K., Russia, the Scheck Republic, Serbia, Switzerland, Türkiye, Sweden, Albany, Bulgaria and Cuba.

The encounter is expected to take to a higher level the work of the European Solidairty-with-Cuba Movement in the rejection of the brutal US economic siege against Cuba, furthered strengthened by the inclusion of the island nation on the US list of states sponsors of terrorism.

The official said that the event will be one more international step of support to the Cuban claims for its right to independence and self-determination, and recognition of the dignity and courage of the Cuban people, who endure the hard living conditions resulting from the US blockade.lc
