HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 19 (acn) The First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, met on Thursday afternoon with Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Party leader in the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, who headed a delegation of congresspersons that visited Cuba since February 17.
Also participating in the meeting were representatives Elliot Engel de New York, Rosa DeLauro de Connecticut; Collin Peterson, for Minnesota, Anna Eshoo, for California; Nydia Velasquez, for New York; Jim McGovern for Massachusetts; Steve Israel, for New York; and David Cicilline, for Rhode Island, as well as Josefina Vidal, General Director of the United States Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other officials of the Foreign Ministry. Tackled during the meeting were aspects like the process of updating of the Cuban economic model, relations between Cuba and the United States, and prospects of debates in the U.S. Congress on the lifting of the blockade.
