HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (ACN) Nearly 51,000 women worked in science and technology in 2023, according to the latest yearbook published by Cuba’s ONEI (National Statistics and Information Bureau).
A total of 50,633 women—the largest number in the last three years—held managerial, technical, administrative, service and other related jobs.
Cuba invested almost seven million pesos in science and technology last year, mostly for purposes of research and development, whereas ONEI granted 55 innovation patents in that period, including 38 requested by foreigners.
