HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 17 (acn) The Canadian company Blue Diamond assumed the administration of the Breezes Jibacoa Hotel, to continue increasing operations in Cuba, where it already manages 13 tourist facilities.
Operated until now by the group SuperClubs, of Jamaica, the Breezes Jibacoa has 240 rooms and it's located in the area around Havana, in one of the prioritized areas to develop tourism with the participation of foreign capital.
The hotel division of the Canadian group Sunwing Travel operates, together with the Cuban owners, more than 7,000 rooms under the marks of Royalton, Memories and Starfish, the latter recently introduced and the most economic of these three.
The firm also notified the incorporation of the Memories Miramar Havana Hotel, previously known as Occidental Miramar, and of the Montehabana Apartotel, with which it started operations in this capital, seeking to guarantee the segment of business and conferences.
In order to expand its presence in places of increasing success among tourists, the company assumed in January the administration and commercialization of the Memories Holguin, (before the Riu Playa Turquesa), a four-star hotel of 531 rooms located in Yuraguanal Beach, in Guardalavaca.
With only three years in the Cuban market, Blue Diamond has managed to place itself as the second foreign hotel chain with the largest presence in Cuba, after the Spanish Melia, with over 25 years in the destination and 27 facilities under its administration.
