HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 30 (ACN) A group of the Valencian Association of Friendship with Cuba “ Jose Marti” concluded in Boyeros and Tulipan, in Havana, the second of two mural paintings made during their visit to Cuba, which will conclude next Wednesday.
Faces of the people make up the work guided by the artist Javier Parra supported by his 22 travel companions who joined Havana creators to draw on a wall representative images of children, young people, Cuban women and the Cuban flag, as symbols of resistance to imperial aggressiveness.
Leading the group is David Rodriguez, winner of the Friendship Medal, president of the solidarity association, who was an active participant in the International Tribunal against the blockade on Cuba held in the European Parliament in 2023.
Rodriguez expressed the satisfaction of his colleagues for finishing the two mural paintings, reiterating the commitment to continue the denunciation against the genocidal economic siege imposed by the United States on the island for more than 60 years.
The previous pictorial work was painted on a wall of the Jose Hipolito Pazos Polyclinic in San Antonio de los Baños, a locality with which the association has been cooperating for more than 20 years.
The activists' busy program included visits to the Fidel Castro Center; to the Ernesto Che Guevara monumental complex in Santa Clara; and to the headquarters of the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP by its Spanish acronym) to attend the presentation of a book and documentary on the tribunal against the blockade of Cuba that was held in Brussels.
In several provinces, they held exchanges with the population and toured sites of cultural and historical interest, work centers and community projects, and delivered donations of school materials and medical supplies.
