SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Jul 21 (ACN) After several days of performances, book presentations, workshops and lectures, the VII International Festival of Experimental Theater “Desconectado a 969” closed its doors in this city.
Juan Edilberto Sosa, chair of the Organizing Committee, the event became an international platform for dialogue on the current status of theater, as well as for discussions on Latin American and Caribbean academies and their role in encouraging students to experiment on and develop the poetics of their body and speech according to what they wish to express.
He praised the works presented by participants from Cuba, Argentina and Mexico and stressed the city’s satisfaction in hosting a Festival that contributes to look at theater in a different, inclusive and imperfect way.
Organized by the provincial chapter of the Saíz Brothers Association, “Desconectado a 969” provided a context for celebration and appreciation of an ever-growing theater made mostly by young people that is drawing more and more audiences in Cuba and the world.
