HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 14 (acn) The certificate as Corresponding Member of the National Association of Cuban Historians (UNHIC) was given to engineer, writer and historian Hamlet Hermann, in a ceremony held at the ALBA Cultural Center in this capital on Friday.
Attending the meeting were Rebel Army Commander Delio Gomez, who was linked to the struggle against the regime of Rafael Trujillo in the Dominican Republic, and also academicians and UNHIC members.
During the ceremony, the Association's vice-president, Doctor of Sciences Andres Zaldivar, talked about the extensive and multifaceted career of Hermann and praised his commitment to the preservation of the historic memory of the fraternal nation.
Zaldivar also said that the event will contribute to strengthen fraternal bonds with Dominican historians of great worth.
Among Hermann's books we find Caracoles, la guerrilla de Caamaño; Comandante de Caracoles; Diálogo entre adversarios; De héroes, de pueblo; El guerrillero y el general and Un ala de pájaros, veinte años de artículos sobre Cuba.
