ARTEMISA, Cuba, Jul 9 (ACN) It would be a mistake not to continue; undisciplined people and those who like to perpetrate irregularities and modify them, told the Cuban News Agency Alcides Lopez Labrada, delegate of agriculture in Artemisa, on the special control of land and livestock that takes place in the country.
Lopez Labrada assured that they have conformed 109 commissions made up of about 800 people who visited some 6,700 livestock holders, he emphasized, and the investigation detected 45,000 violations: in the land; in the control and health of livestock; with the contracting of agricultural products and the fight against crime.
As a result, more than 1,000 fines were applied; about 170 animals were confiscated or left in deposit; 232 usufructs of land with about 1,800 hectares (ha) were rescinded to people who committed different types of violations", the director stated.
He added that the exercise has allowed agriculture, especially the municipal delegation, which is the competent authority, to recover the leading role and impose discipline in the farms of Artemisa.
According to Lopez Labrada, the exercise was initiated by those who did not comply with the delivery of milk to the industry, and it is necessary to see how milk began to rise in this province to the point of being nowadays among the best in the country in this line.
Once the exercise is officially concluded, 20 % of the places inspected will be checked again, he explained.
The research began on March 1 this year throughout the country; it will contribute to the sustained increase in production and the reduction of idle areas and those that are poorly exploited.
