Anniversary of UNESCO Chair in the province of Matanzas

 MATANZAS, Cuba, Jul 7 (ACN) Cuba saluted the 30th anniversary of the UNESCO Chair on Reading and Writing based in the University of Matanzas (UM).

Karen Shirley López Gil, coordinator of the initiative for Latin America, said that the Chair contributes to the transformation of educational policies on reading and writing both in higher education and other levels.

“The Chair is constantly evolving in order to train more sensitive, resilient, critical and creative readers based on the analysis of discourse in different textual typologies and to promote innovation with a view to improving education quality,” she remarked.
