Cuban province commits to sustainable food production

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Jul 1 (ACN) The Center for Bioactive Chemicals (CBQ) of the Cuban central province of Villa Clara obtained the commercial registration for CBQ-AgroG®, a technological innovation aimed at sustainable food production.

Zenaida Rodriguez Negrin, director of the institution, told the press that the registration facilitates the commercialization of the product after many years of study and that it has already been used in rice, tobacco and bean crops and has a novel experience in Placetas in the latter.

She added that it has been worked in vegetables at the Yabu Valley and presents several utilities in different crops harvested in Cuba that substitute traditional fertilizers in view of the high cost in the international market.

Rodriguez Negrin indicated that its quality is guaranteed by an integrated production system made entirely with local raw materials, which is another alternative for the usefulness of the farmers.

Niurys Castillo Hernandez, journalist of the newspaper Vanguardia, commented that after a research on the topic, she understood the usefulness of this product, which contains macronutrients, micronutrients and microorganisms that promote plant growth.

CBQ-AgroG® is a bioproduct of microbial origin that helps in the development of plantations and increases crop yields.
